Trump promises ‘hell to pay’ in Middle East if hostages are not released before he takes office
Sam’s Club, owned by Walmart, is experimenting with a future retail model that eliminates the need for checkout lines. This is part of the company’s efforts to streamline the shopping experience and make it more customer-friendly.
This method, called “Scan & Go,” allows customers to scan items as they shop using a smartphone or handheld device provided in-store. The app keeps a running total of all items in the cart, then auto-processes payment when the customer is done shopping. The receipt is then displayed on the phone, allowing the customer to simply walk out of the store without having to queue and individually scan each item at a traditional checkout line.
Not only does this technology save customers time, it also reduces the need for staffed checkout lines, potentially saving the company money in the long run.
Whether this method will be successful and implemented in other Walmart-owned stores remains to be seen. Various other retailers like Amazon have already been experimenting with similar concepts.
