According to a recent investigation conducted by cybersecurity firm FireEye, the Vietnamese government allegedly hacked U.S. officials and media outlets, including CNN, through a social media site known as X. The firm uncovered evidence of hundreds of profiles and posts on behalf of the Vietnamese government, targeting journalists, politicians and members of the U.S. government, military and intelligence services. “Our reporting and our investigation conclude that these activities were likely part of a broader influence operation conducted by the Vietnamese government,” the report said.
