holiday season
On what was supposed to be a merry and bright holiday season, Kevin McCarthy instead found himself facing a starkly different reality. Following the controversial and unexpected impeachment of President Joe Biden, tensions between the political parties had reached an all-time high. The House Minority Leader was the target of scorn from his own party for his perceived role in the questioning of the President’s actions. To make matters worse, the majority of Americans seemed to be in favor of Biden’s impeachment, and it was becoming clear that the Republican Party had been dealt a devastating blow. The holiday season was the most tumultuous McCarthy had ever faced and certainly not the least merry Christmas for him.
