State Dept orders departure from Iraq of non-emergency government workers

The U.S. Department of State has ordered the immediate departure of non-emergency U.S. government workers from Iraq. The Department has determined that the reassignment or ordered departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Iraq is made out of an abundance of caution and is for the purpose of protecting the health, safety, and security of U.S. citizens, but that this reassignment or ordered departure does not constitute a specific threat against the mission at this time.
