McCarthy floats meeting with Biden on government shutdown, border

wall

McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, has suggested that he and Vice President Joe Biden meet to discuss the government shutdown and border wall issue. McCarthy said, “I think conversations need to happen, I think that’s what leadership looks like.” Biden also said that he was “open to working with Republicans” to end the shutdown. The offer comes as the government shutdown continues to drag on with no sign of an end in sight. McCarthy said that he had “not yet” discussed the meeting with President Donald Trump.
