According to one Israeli official, the US may become involved if Hezbollah and Iran decide to join Hamas in fighting Israel. There is little evidence that either Iranian or Hezbollah forces have committed to deploying to the theatre of conflict, however the US and other international actors have expressed concern of their potential involvement. The implications of such an involvement would require increased attention and scrutiny from the region’s international stakeholders. US military involvement in the conflict, if any, could potentially have serious implications for the peace process and the region at large.
