Trump announces picks for Army secretary, trade adviser, hostage envoy, NASA administrator and more
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds hit back at President Trump recently in an interview when she threw her support behind former Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Reynolds said she likes DeSantis’ leadership style and his record in Florida. She added that “the president has his preferences” but she is “not aligned with one particular person.”
Reynolds said she respects the president’s opinion and recognizes the accomplishments he’s achieved, but she will support whoever she believes “is the best leader for the future of the party” in the 2024 election.
The remarks by Reynolds appear to be a response to Trump’s suggestion that his daughter, Ivanka, should be the 2024 Republican Party nominee. Trump has not yet publicly endorsed DeSantis, although he has praised him on multiple occasions.
