Gaza hospital blast: Here’s what we know

A powerful explosion shook a densely populated neighborhood in Gaza on Sunday night, leaving at least five dead and ten injured. The cause of the explosion is unknown and is under investigation.

According to local Palestinian officials, the blast took place outside a building in the Al-Mishal Cultural Center in Gaza City. It is not yet clear what kind of explosive device was used, but some reports suggest that it might have been a car bomb. Witnesses also reported hearing and feeling two blasts, indicating that two explosives may have been involved.

The Israel Defense Forces say they were not involved in the explosion, but they are monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of carrying out the attack, something that the Israeli military denies.

At least five people have died and ten more have been injured in the explosion, but the toll may continue to rise in the coming days. Those injured in the blast are being treated at Hamas-run Shifa Hospital and the Palestinian Authority’s Gaza Hospital.

It is not yet clear who is responsible for the explosion, but further details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the investigation continues.
