The effort to ban mask mandates on public transportation has gained steam as another big supporter has joined the fight. The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business association, has come out in support of the effort. The NFIB President, Brad Close, recently stated that “businesses should not be forced to deal with the burden of mask mandates that could potentially hurt their bottom line.” The NFIB is joined by other major organizations, such as the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the American Bus Association, the United States Travel Association, and the National Restaurant Association, in calling for the elimination of the mandate. The Centers for Disease Control has also weighed in, encouraging businesses to consider the economic impacts of their mask policies. As more organizations come out in favor of removing the mandate, there is a growing chance that it may be overturned in many places.
