At a growing list of airports, TSA PreCheck travelers no longer have to show physical IDs or boarding passes

That’s correct! The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been implementing new technology to streamline the security process. They are introducing a new touchless ID verification system at various airports across the US.

This technology enables TSA PreCheck passengers to scan their own ID and verify their flight information without handing over their boarding pass and ID to a security officer. This not only reduces physical contact for safety purposes but also expedites the security process. Passengers would still have to verify their identity and PreCheck status by scanning their face at the security checkpoint.

However, travelers are still advised to have their physical IDs and boarding passes handy in case the system is down or if manual verification is needed. It’s also important to note that this service is currently only available for TSA PreCheck passengers, and the list of airports offering this feature is still growing.
