A recent survey conducted in South Korea has found that a majority of South Koreans consider cryptocurrencies to be a form of gambling. The survey, which was conducted by Seoul-based researcher Saramin, revealed that 80% of respondents viewed cryptocurrencies as gambling, compared to just 11% of respondents who viewed the digital assets as an investment. The survey included 1,500 respondents and was conducted from February 14 to 24. The results of the survey come as South Korea, often considered to be a leader in the cryptocurrency space, has recently taken a hard stance on cryptocurrencies. The South Korean government has proposed an overhaul of its existing cryptocurrency regulations and is considering a ban on certain types of crypto-related activities, including initial coin offerings and margin trading.
